According to Quizilla, this is moi...hmmmm...pwede....

Your wings are DRAGON wings. Massive and covered in scales, they shimmer with strength and magic. They are the most obvious display of your power - though it runs equally throughout your heart and mind. You are uncompromising and grave, with a profound sense of justice. You have firm ideas about what is right and what is wrong and set out to fix what problems you can. You realize that you are more capable of dealing with life and evil than most, and as such you see it as your responsibility to protect those who cannot defend themselves. You have existed since antiquity and as such you are wise far beyond your years in this lifetime. While you strive for fairness and peace, if someone should steal from your cave of treasure (though not all that glitters is gold) or compromise the happiness of you or one who is close to you - they have signed their death warrant. You have a mighty vengeance and will unleash it upon such people immediately and mercilessly. Arguing with you is useless...you rarely back down and are known for holding firm in your beliefs. Sometimes you feel intensely burdened with the troubles of others...acting as a Guardian can get so wearisome. But you never give up...you see it as your life's mission. Often very introverted, you can be so smart...it's scary. Such a combination of intelligence, creativity, power, beauty, and magic is often intimidating to those around you - who are also unlikely to understand you. Arrogant, proud, overserious, and sometimes a bit greedy or obsessed with whatever treasure you choose to pursue...you have enchanted people for centuries, and will continue to do so.

Every new beginning comes from some other beginning's end...

The end of the road, leastways for the one I have walked. I took a turn today. One that might come up and bite me someday. But I turned anyway. The fork in the road seemed the best way to take for the journey. T'was no easy task, believe you me. The road I turned from was always kind and accomodating. The type any traveller would want to tread to the end.

Actually, the road that this leads to has always called out to me. There were roads back a ways that in retrospect I could have taken. But it seems it was fated that I should turn today. And I have come to realize that even if I didn't turn this way, tomorrow, the road will always inevitably lead me to this road I am now walking on.

This road is for the moment, dark yet not gloomy. I am alone, with naught but a few whispers of confidence the wind brings every now and then. It seems bumpy, uneven and the travel seems slightly uphill. Fog covers most of the visibility, and I cannot see any but a few feet in front of me, yet I can feel that my feet were made to tread this path. The road beyond calls me to it with a power I cannot comprehend, and pulls me with a power I cannot easily brush aside.

I fear the road, yet I fear more for what might happen if I turn back.

I fear the road, yet somehow I know it was the one appointed for me to take.

This road is mine now.

And I will walk it.

I will walk it till it turns again into some sunny crossing where against all hope, all that I have dreamed of, I will find. And there I hope to find that beginning, from that some other beginning's end.

Well, I can now honestly say that I have a favorite TV show. Even if I don't watch it on TV, that's just a technicality. "Friends" Forever! hehehe.

Friendaissance

In a previous post, I mentioned that 2004 barged into our lives like an elephant in a china shop. When huge things barge into a room full of fragile things, then there's bound to be broken valuables here and there. Thankfully, that elephant was a calm one. Despite its huge girth, all it managed was a few broken plates, lots of shaken plates, lots of plates and cups displaced, and more than a few nervous wrecks breathing heavily in its wake.

So, to recover from that jarring start to the year, some friends and myself locked up at our pad (owned by the tres muchachos - popot, slither and I) for five days, basically doing nothing but watch "Friends" DVDs. We managed to watch seasons 4-9. That's 24 episodes per season. And yes, if you must ask, we did'nt get much sleep. We did get to laugh much, and cry a lot, and laugh again and again. All thanks to "Friends".

It's really very therapeutic, doing nothing but that. (Honestly. For those who are interested, just give us a buzz). But more importantly, we rediscovered our great friendships which were stretched by distance, time, and lack of communication. As Phoebe so eloquently put it, we had a "Friendaissance" during that brief week.

To those who stayed at the pad, I hope we could do that again. When the time comes that the "Friends" show is no longer there, I know you guys will still be around. So here's to Friends! May they keep us laughing even when we've seen the episodes hundreds of times over. And here's to real friends. May we all grow old together, and never have one divorce between us!

Chasing Dreams...

I have always been a dreamer. I have been since I was old enough to dream. I have been since I learned to grasp what dreams are made of. And through the years, I have been doing what the title of this entry says. Chase dreams...dream chaser.

I resigned from my job recently. To be more accurate, I resigned yesterday. I am leaving an easy, comfortable, great paying job, (modesty aside, one that I’m quite good at) for something I am not entirely sure of. This one will be the biggest gamble I will take thus far, but make or break, I can’t escape what I am. And what I am is this. I live for this: To run around and see where these feet and this heart will take me.

To be honest, though I’ve been living in dreams all my life, this one scares me…scares the daylight out of me. Because for the first time, a dream will take me far from the thing that I value more than dreaming...It will take me far from the ones that I love.

Yet here I am. I chase…I dream...I chase...

Whilst browsing through my clutter of files in my PC, I came across this. Can't remember when I wrote this though...

Somewhere

I know where you are,

My heart feels you are far…

Yet I feel your love more keenly than I feel my own breath

So much that I am winded whenever your thought touches

I love you and you know, but I am not there

Yet you feel me more keenly

than the pale warm rays that touch your eyes in the morning.

When I sleep I always pray, that somehow,

Yours and my dreams will meet,

in that place where only the angels dare

In that place beyond all time, all love and soul,

There between the waking and the dreaming

In that place where all else fails, save you and I

Cocoy, borrow. Thanks.

Love Song

Rainer Maria Rilke

How can I keep my soul in me, so that

it doesn't touch your soul? How can I raise

it high enough, past you, to other things?

I would like to shelter it, among remote

lost objects, in some dark and silent place

that doesn't resonate when your depths resound.

Yet everything that touches us, me and you,

takes us together like a violin's bow,

which draws one voice out of two separate strings.

Upon what instrument are we two spanned?

And what musician holds us in his hand?

Oh sweetest song.

Roller-Coaster

Mae Govanen

I resigned from work today, effective 30 January 2004. Yes, from this point I am jobless, and the funny thing is, I am not afraid nor worried.

And why would I be? I have a God that saw me through a very tumultuous start for 2004. From day 1, meaning January 1st, it was apparent to me that this year will be a year of dramatic changes. Months worth of wrongs had to be made right in a week. Years worth of sorrows had to be faced in a span of days. And whole lifetimes of habits and perceptions had to be erased and modified in less time that it takes to bake a cake. Yes...it has been a trying first three weeks. But despite all the difficulties, God has led me and the people involved through it.

And it was not only me. A lot of my friends had a very difficult start of the year too, and I can say with confidince that they too feel God's movements in their lives. They're doing well, and I thank God for that.

The roller coaster ride is far from over though, since the first month is even barely over. Many things still need to be set right. Many questions, still unanswered need to be shed light on. Many fears are there that still need to be faced.

I have a feeling that this year will prove to be a most memorable one.

The roller coaster ride goes on...

"Only those who will risk going too far can possibly find out how far one can go."

Well, in the spirit of my Re-blogging, I'm posting some of the more memorable posts I made in the first one. Here goes...

The Sun...
At first I thought you were an angel,
but now I know you are not.
No, but something more…
You are the sun. An earthbound star
You are gravity. Pulling me to you,
making me turn,
revolve,
whether I would or no…
Yet I cannot touch you, for you are fatal aflame
You burn, when I get too close.
You are the reason I wake every morning
Hope, you give to keep running another day
Darkness creeps in when you’re not there
And like everything else in this world
My life starts, and ends with you...

When I'm gone
When will you love me?
When mine arms can no longer hold you,
When my ears cannot hear your silken cries?
When will you love me?
When I am no longer there to dry the raindrops from your eyes?
When will you love me?
When all chance for this heart and yours to beat side by side is gone,
When my eyes wander far from your face...to the horizon, to the unknown?
Do you love me now? Maybe...yet only you would know.
Mayhap, you will love me when I'm gone.

Forgive me, I flinched
Forgive me, I flinched when you pushed away
I'm not a superman afterall,
no matter how much I try to be for you
I'm human, like all those who came before
I flinched, hurt and weakened
You are my kryptonite afterall

...

I believe that we were sent into this world for a purpose.
I believe that we are sent here with someone, that we were not meant to fulfill that purpose alone.
I know I was sent here, with her.
Only that in our descent from that place where time and love meet, we were separated.
I found her, I think.
Years ago, coming from my low of lows.
Yet I didn't recognize her
But I know I had loved her then.
And the years passed, and we lost touch,
and found each other, in a neverending cycle of "Hi's" and "Hello"'s.
And in the last, I realized that I loved her, but...

I have just finished reading Neil Gaiman's novel, Neverwhere,

which I borrowed from a good friend. Brilliant. Brilliant in its

weirdness. Brilliant in the fresh way he portrays the putrid, the

dank, the drab, and the dark.

I half wish, no, fully wish right at this very moment that I had

more imagination than I was born with, or is it more imagination

cultivated from since I was old enough to dream? nevertheless, I

wish I did have more imagination than now. I wish it like a little

child wishing for more M & m's and more cadbury's Milk chocolate

bars, and finding out he had just eaten all from the pack and

there's nothing more to be had.

Funny this state of mind. Wanting what you don't have and

wanting more of what you have. Its not at all bad actually.

Wanting what you don't have is not all that bad. The trick is liking

what you have now, and enjoying what you have now, and

making the most and drinking all that you can drink from what

you have. But the same time, dreaming of new things. better

things. Drives you to be better methinks. And then, liking what

new things that you have created or purchased, or read, or helped

bring about in the world. Then moving on again. I gather no moss.

I roll.

Next stop, the bookstore. For more of Neil Gaiman.

SENTI...

This is a letter that I wrote to one of my best friends after I nearly

had an accident in Tarlac City. After a night out with friends, we

were driving home, trailing a 5-Star bus. Suddenly the bus stops,

and fortunately, I was able to stop just a foot from the bus's rear.

Little did we know that the bus hit a tractor trailer with five people

on board. We saw them only after I backed up and turned my

headlights to bright.

Page 10 of 12 KG's Chronicles

10/29/2003 http://kgchronicles.motime.com/1064959200

The driver and the conductor of the were already out of the bus,

but shocked, were only staring at the five passengers of the

tractor who were sprawled onthe dirt. Marnny, one of my

companions knocked us out of our shock, and we climbed down

and carried the victims onto the bus, who then brought them to

the nearest hospital.

Of the five, only one survived.

On the way home, we travelled at 40KmPh, from our initial 90

Kmph. I took them all home, all four friends of mine. We were

quiet, barely talking, shirts crimson with blood. That was the last

night out we had. And that was months ago. This letter I wrote a

week later:

Dear Leahbest,

Last night I could not force myself to go to sleep. More of my

malady of mortality I suppose. I kept turning and turning in my

bed. Wondering. Wondering that if I had died on that Saturday a

week ago, would you have cried? Would others cry? Would I see

you cry there? Would I cry for me? And for a moment, I nearly

did.

I wondered also, what would I leave behind? Would you

remember me with fond memories? Would you smile at the jokes

that I had made, the ones that you remembered, those that

weren’t corny of course. Would I be buried someday, pushed back

behind the coming of new memories, happier ones full of joy and

love and tenderness and smiles and laughs? I guess I would.

You’d remember my name, but would you remember the feelings,

the emotions, the touch, the feel, the sound of my voice?

Eventually, you and I will pass. Even our grandchildren will not

remember us. And we will be but faint echoes of the past. Some

pictures or records may still remain, your name maybe, on the list

of all time Bar Exam topnochers; my video, digitized and redigitized

(the one that I "macho-danced" for in Ida’s project), or

our student numbers in some dusty old cabinets in the basement

of the CMC.

Yes we will pass. Unless of course we become bigger than life and

be celebrities, or become catalyst to some monumental change

that will affect the human condition forever. Which of course for

me is highly unlikely. I have no such ambitions, and even if I had,

I have not the capacity. But you do, I believe.

But then I remembered our talks. About letters, and pouring of

hearts into words, and remembering old feelings and thoughts and

emotions. I did. I read all the letters that we wrote each other. I

read Marj’s letters. I read all the notes Ida wrote to me. I read all

the letters that I had received from all those who’ve had a

significant impact in my life. And to my joy I felt all the emotions

and remembered all the blurred and vague memories long since

pushed back. And I loved it. It felt great, it felt sad, it felt like it

happened just then and there. And then I longed for those days

Page 11 of 12 KG's Chronicles

10/29/2003 http://kgchronicles.motime.com/1064959200

when e-mail and text had not yet made communications so easy

that it became cold. When letters were letters, alive and full of

heart and hope. Not now, where mail is no more than chain mail

and jokes that’ve circulated thrice already around the world.

I have not the heart to burn those letters or throw them away.

Like pictures, they’re frozen moments in time. And though we

can’t have that time back, we can at least, re-live them…the good

ones at least. Or even the bad ones, where if we analyze are some

of the more important events that’ve shaped us.

So now I make a proposition (Not of marriage or anything of that

sort. You know very well what a state of confusion I am in).

Freeze time with me. Text is ok, but like credits, once it’s sent,

you’ll not get it back anymore. Instant messaging is also fine,

but…you know what I mean.

At the very least, read my mails. I promise to read yours. No

matter how absurd or boring or pointless you think it is. Just write

it. Even if you only write once a month, write. Even just once a

year, write. At least I’ll have something of you, frozen like a

photograph but as warm as if you were sitting right there. And I’ll

keep them. I’ll have my grandchildren’s children keep them, and I

will instruct them to do the same. Think of it, even when our

hearts and brains are already dust, their contents will still be here.

Sorry for being nose-bleedingly senti. Maybe this means that it’s

high time I started writing again.

All the best,

Glenn

Maybe Emode was right

Maybe my power really is timetravel.

A conversation I had with a friend yesterday had me thinking the whole day and most

of last night. And I realized that I am not in the present. At least my mind is not. Its

been so long since I was able to focus on "today", on what is important (hence the

'sabog' aura that I exude the past months).

I live mostly in the future. Looking forward to better days, when all the troubles of

today remain only a memory. If I'm not in tomorrow, then I'm in yesterday, reminiscing

on the good days I've had, and mostly brooding on the mistakes of ther past. I usually

visit the past to learn how I can do better in the future.

I plan, I map out, I play scenarios in my head. My mom believes that is the real reason

that I never gain any weight. More than my medium sized appetite, more than my late

nights, its my constant thinking, and tinkering inside my mind that saps my body.

So maybe I do have the power of time travel. Albeit my body stays in the present, I am

never or rarely even there.

Maybe, I should try visiting today...but under the present circumstances, my living for

today would bear dire circumstances for others. So goodbye. I'm off to the past, then

back to the future. I'll see you all when you get there.

New Zealand or bust.

What's Your Superpower?

Stop the clock! Your inner superpower is

TIMETRAVEL! Your answers show a keen

sense of insight for all the mysteries of

time. Whether you enjoy reminiscing

about thepast or find yourself lost in

thoughts of the future, your energies

definitely point away from the present.

Maybe you're mere seconds ahead or

behind the rest of us, but you could also

be days or even years out of sync. Your

unique position in time and space gives

you a wider perspective on daily events

and makes you an especially wise person.

You're probably a great planner. And

since time is yours to play with, it's almost

a given that you manage it well. If you

haven't yet taken a trip through the fourth

dimension, you're in for the ride of your

life. Don't delay! Visit the future. Fix the

past. And when you come across a very

special moment, make it last as long as

you like.

LOST and FOUND

Yesterday I got a call from a friend that I have not seen nor heard from in a long,

looonnnggg time.

She was my second (official) girlfriend. We lasted for almost two years, but inevitably,

we fell apart, yet somehow remained friends. We kept in touch as long as we could,

said the odd 'hi' 'how are you?' when the opportunity came our way. But then we just

sort of, well, lost touch. Years passed; news of her getting married and having a baby

came my way, and I was happy for her. (on a side note, all my ex's, 'cept for one are

now married. Ninong pa ako dun sa isa. Funny kind of weird)

Though I had lost contact with her, I still felt like she was one of my closest friends. So

imagine my surprise when she suddenly calls me at the office. But, 30 seconds into the

conversation she breaks do
